Birthday Box

I'm back...as promised... just a quick post...

Today I quickly made a box to hold a gift for my Char 'Khuluwa's' mum... she turned 70 and of course its a major milestone which has to be celebrated...

We appreciate eveything Khululwa does for us... and spoiling her mum is a small way to show our appreciation.

these flowers were cut from the Tim Holtz Alterations Decorative strip die -  flower garland strip...
they just layer so beautifully

this is a stamp by Hero Arts D4644

Made the box with linen card stock using my Crafters Companion Ultimate Pro Board

making a box with this is child's play and you can have so much fun decorating it... makes gifting so much more elegant... :-)

Here's hoping you all have a simply wonderful weekend.. I am hosting a canvas class tomorrow morning and then attending a class with my friend Belinda Basson in the afternoon will definitely post what we make next week. A full Krafty weekend ahead..Whoo Hoo... happy days....

until next time

Mojo Monday 386 Tall and Skinny

Hi friends...

Tall and skinny... I think I am almost at the tall point... skinny.... a loooooong way to go...LOL... so for the moment.. skinny is a dream....

I haven't played along with the Mojo Monday Team in ages... and thought I would give it a try this week....

this is what I came up with....

the background design was done with pan pastels... had a play with them earlier this month at a friend's house...

I have no clue who the stamp is from, I almost think it was a magazine Freebie, but I stamped it at a friends so no clue there sorry :-( -  I overstamped the background with Brilliance ink. cut out with my nestibilities and added some bling to the centre.
a close up on the cut out... loved shading with the pan pastels... but I don't think its my my budget yet... the full set is rather expensive here in South Africa! - like all craft related things... (sad face)

some black roses and punched leaves courtesy of another friend... I need this punch.. love the delicate leaves

and here is the finished card.. striped paper and orange backgrounds are off cuts from my stash.

oh I have one more thing to blog today... so see ya later

until then

Anything goes over at Outlawz CAS Challenges

Hi Everyone

Well I managed to finish a quick CAS card to add to my profile this week....

the sentiment is an old one from Hero Arts

I cut these daisies about a month ago from a friend's die... its so lovely and delicate...

A view of the layer from the side. I added double sided foam tape to give it a bit of dimension

some pearls to finish and voila... CAS :-)

that's it for the moment... I am hoping to load some photos of the canvas our ladies finished on Saturday... the class is running again this week from 9h00 to 12h30.

until next time....

FabScraps - Canvas in Blue...

Hello fellow Crafting friends...

Today I was out collecting last minute goodies for my canvas class on Saturday.... its going to be lots of inky fingered fun!!

I thought seeing that I started this week so well, I would keep the momentum going... with another little project I finished a few days ago...

A baby shower always presents an opportunity to spoil a new mum to be with a unique little gift...

this is a canvas I completed for a new baby boy arriving soon....

Back ground papers are FabScraps and Bazzil Basics. the title 'Little One' is a chipboard embellishment also from the FabScraps range.

On the right side I added a Tim Holtz Doily die cut as well as some baby grower die cuts... haven't a clue which company manufactures them. Baby's first photo was printed off Craft Artist and the flowers were stained with Distress ink in Broken China - one of my favorite colors. Leaves are punched.

close up of the flowers and grower.
buttons were made with Adirondack Acrylics - been in my stash forever!

Baby Stats tag  designed in Craft Artist

train is also a die cut from unknown company
sentiment welcome baby is part of a Cuttlebug emboss & die cut set.
Teddy and rattle are rub ons.

I tried to get a photo of the windows
I added glossy accents to make it look like glass - not coming up well though

and that's the final product...I purposefully left it soft and plain.. because after all

its for a new baby coming into this world... soft and cuddly...

until next time....

2014 February Calendar page

Just another quickie for today...

I made this calendar page last year... February again... what can I say... I love the month of Love...LOL

thisis the completed page. Heart stamp - cannot remember which company makes that one :-(

these banners were off cuts which I embossed - wording 'Love' is a stamp from Paper Inspirations

stamped the word February in the little Banner- its a silicone stamp so i could kinda manipulate it to fit.

little angel's wings are glittered with glossy accents and iridescent glitter... you know.. my favorite...:-)

and that's it...  from me for today....

I'm off to finish a concertina booklet, a canvas for a baby shower gift.. and oh yes... a wedding card....

lots to do

Off to Fantasy Land with Outlawz

Hiya everyone

Now with  my internet up and running again... its wonderful to be able to load pics without having to wait hours for it to load... I managed to finish a card for the
Outlawz Fantasy CAS challenge this week.

Here is my contribution... funnily enough... I just realised that my color scheme is the same as last week... red and white.. so its the month of love... and all that... lol.. that's my reason and I'm sticking to it.. nothing to do with the fact that my brain just couldn't see any other color matching with the image I colored with my Alcohol Markers.

My little fairy is colored with a mixture of ProMarkers and Spectrum Noir alcohol Markers.

Sentiment is a clear stamp set from Hero Arts CL278 Great Flourishes messages

I'm not sure if you can see the glossy accents I added to the small flowers in her hair & the little bling in the centre of the flower

The white dots on the mushrooms are also highlighted with glossy accents and clear iridescent glitter (my favourite)

Her wings are colored in very light grey tones... and also filled with glossy accents and iridescent glitter...

to finish... 3 red flat backed diamantes as an accent

and that's another week of CAS at Outlawz done and dusted.... I have just finished a 12 x 12 scrapbook page using diving papers from FabScraps so keep a look out...

 until next time....

My Calendar pages for 2015

Hi Everyone

Each year my friends and I create a calendar to enjoy for the coming months...

this year I made February and May.... they we fairly quick pages... due to time constraints.. and when I look at February now I can see so many more options.. which didn't come to mind at the time... go figure... I hit a blank then.. and after the fact the ideas come... well live and learn!! LOL..... I guess we all go through phases filled with creative drought... how do you overcome it when your mojo goes AWOL??

my cure is to visit some of my favourite blogs... watch some You Tube... and hopefully it comes back... admittedly if I haven't crafted for a while... it becomes harder to get back into things... so the cure I guess is to keep at it and try to do at least one creative thing everyday... much easier said than done.. but I'm going to try.. :-)

here are my photos for this year....

February Calendars. Background papers are courtesy of Astrid's Artistic Efforts
and the circle calendar printables are courtesy of Scrappy Sticky Inky Mess

see what I mean... it looks a bit empty...

the heart on top is filled with glossy accents and topped with Distress Glitter... love that stuff!

A close up on the heart die cut which I stamped a Valentine image in VersaMark Ink creating a light watermark image in the background

This is a rubber stamp from Paper Inspirations

and now for May..............

papers and calendars are from the same source as for the February Calendar.

Butterfly is a cuttlebug die and embossing cut .

The Sentiment I found online and created my own version in Serif Craft Artist

Astrid has some awesome free papers on her blog.. you should really pop around and take a peek.

That's it for the moment.. I am off to see if I can finish a card for the latest challenge over at the Outlawz this week my friend Lynn Cupido's theme is Fantasy... so I'm off to look for my fairy, goblins and mermaid stamps...

as always... remember to

It's all about Hearts and Flowers at Outlawz

Hello friends

I had some time to finish a quick CAS card - so I joined the CAS challenge at Outlawz

a quick and simple card

This is an old PSX set with hearts and sentiment.. so perfect for this challenge.

I die cut the scalloped heart with my Big Shot and lay it onto my card. Stamped Flower heart in Versafine black ink and only colured in the 3 roses with my ProMarkers in red.
It was too small to still try to color with too much detail  - placed my heart over the red heart with some foam tape to add some dimension.

stamped the sentiment in the bottom right corner in black Versafine and Voila!!

 All done......

Happy to be having some time to play..... hope you all have a fabulous week filled with love and all things good...

Remember... as always to..........

Keep it Krafty......
