I've been wanting to try my hand at an Arabic canvas for a while now. Making my brother a gift seemed like the ideal time to take the plunge...
I started out by painting the canvas with white gesso and then added some texture paste randomly on the canvas...unfortunately it was a process of many layers...cause I was experimenting until I had the texture and 'look' I wanted so I didn't take any progress photos....in hindsight I should have, cause now I won't be able to replicate it again....maybe that's a good thing....so that it will remain unique...😬
Here are photos of the completed project.
Here you can see a close up of the Arabic script I painted it black and then filled it with orange seed beads....I was seeing skew after this ...lol
I used a butterfly stencil with texture paste on the canvas and I think because my background wasn't 100% dry...the color seeped into the texture paste..an accident which worked out quite well...lol..
I used bronze and gold acrylic paint and also used orange and butterscotch
Dylusions and Adirondack sprays. Final flourish of glitter sprinkled across the butterflies.
Hope you enjoyed browsing through my first Arabic Art attempt.
Until next time.....remember to........
Keep it Krafty...
