GREEN FINGA'S - a double paged Spring Layout!

This was a layout we did of Azrah while she was messing in the side area which we were planning to do a veggie patch... guess she couldn't wait that long to get dirty...LOL...

A close up of the stamped image (top right of the right page) Its an old Hero Arts set... I added some sand to the tops of the plant pots... hope you can see it!
Page one... the flowers are stamped on yellow in green ink and cut out... I added my bling of course to each flower.. and used green ric rac for the stems
Centre picture was layered onto yellow with 3 buttons added to the side.
close up on the centre pic
close up of the bright spring flowers... you can see the watering can I stamped on the scrap border below
Page 2 carries on with the flowers and border to bring the 2 pages together.

Circles and birthday wishes

The challenge on Outlawz Birthday challenges last week was:

Each card must have a birthday sentiment on the front of it and the twist this week is: Ribbon or string and at least one circle.

So it took me all week... and loads of sleepless dreaming... LOL.. to come up with this idea... I realised I had an old Hero Arts circle stamp... which I wanted to use... as it hasn't seen much ink recently or ever!!

this is my take on the challenge...

the colored background is Kaleidacolor brayered onto gloss card. For shimmer I add some Perfect pearls... (colors of your choice.. have some fun!) and spritz with water... allow to dry... and stamp away!! as easy as that.
I stamped the circled over the background with my blue brilliance ink. I didn't want to use black ... thought it would be a bit too harsh... anyway cut away from the circles and layered onto cerise card. Layered this onto lilac and finally mounted onto white card.

stamped my Hero Arts "happy birthday" sentiment and cut it out with my oval nestie

On the final picture you can see how I added some ribbon and gems to the side circles. the bottom of the card looked bare so I added the left over scrapof the background card and to finish added some buttons with some wool. I didn't have any twine that matched and preferred the texture of these fibres. I also used the fibres to attach the circle sentiment to the ribbon at the top.

I hope you can see the lovely shimmer on the background paper made by the perfect pearls.. this is really a quick and easy background to achieve. I tend to do a full A4 sheet of background to have handy, especially when I am in a rush!!

thanks for coming by... hope you have a wonderful week

and...now ... .the Sketch challenge for this week....

Oh my... when I saw this sketch... I almost ran a mile...LOL... yep... it looked rather complicated...and I thought... gosh... I don't think I'll be able to come up with anything as cool as the DT did... never mind... as ever always up for a challenge... here is the sketch and below that... my interpretation....

You can find the Outlawz Sketch challenge HERE

all images are colored in with my Hero Arts water color wheel. The image is over stamped with pink (can't remember the name off hand distress inks) using a word background stamp from Paper chain in Johannesburg.
I added some purple/pinky diamantes to the small petals and some glossy accents and Hero Arts Prism Glitter to the centre.

All other images and words are from the Hero Arts collection
I just couldn't resist glittering up his wings with glossy accents and yes... my Prism Glitter... LOL

Tiny butterfly comes from a Great Impressions stamp. It is a stamp with a group of butterflies.. I only used the one.
Border image is also from Hero Arts

Top left flower also has some glitter and the centre of the flower has a tiny diamante as well. Top of the page is what is commonly sold at the "Chinese Markets" as body jewellery... of course if you're a crafter you use everything and anything... I think it works amazingly well on my cards.. they are self adhesive... What more could a girl ask for!!...LOL

I am hoping that this is a better pic of the completed card....sorry all.. I am a horrific photographer... and to top it all.. the lighting in my house is awful... I promise, the real card looks pretty cool... if you're in the area - pop by, I have a collection to show off now...LOL

thanks for stopping by... it is time for bed....

have a wonderful day/evening wherever you are

How about black, white and coral today

Can you believe I actually finished 2 cards today!! Wow.. I am on a roll....LOL... here they are...

the specs today was to use Black, White and Coral... now Coral is not a color I would often use... so I was really tempted to do this one....

I was totally unhappy with the first card... so that's why I did a second one...

This bird stamp is from the limited edition Hampton Art range... these stamps work really well.
I used a black base and cuttle bugged (bird image) the coral paper layered onto black card. stamped bird in black on white off cut and inked up the sides with coral brilliance ink. layered this onto a black off cut...

In the finished card you can see I layered a ribbon down the centre and added a bow and some pearls to the card.
Now this one didn't  talk to me... so I set about doing another.... LOL

Used a new bird image from the Hampton Art Limited edition range and inked it with the Hampton studio G white ink. it works really well. I cut this out and layered it onto the Coral color and cut around the first image. layered this onto black and again onto coral.
Base card was black. I cuttle bugged (harlequin background) the white and layered it onto the black base.  Attached an off cut of ribbon I found in my stash and made a bow on the side. Added 3 flowers with pearls and to finish a little "hello" sentiment on a small tag I got as a gift from someone a while back... came in handy....which comes from the Hampton Art cupcake range  the actual stamp says "hello Cupcake" but I only used the Hello section.

Here is the final product... although not 100% happy... I think its a bit better than the 1st one...

thnx for stopping by...

have a great day!

Outlawz CAS challenge 27th Feb

OK..so I am getting into the idea of this whole clean and simple.. thing... and I am loving it...the sketches always look relatively easy.. but when I sit down... whooooosh... all the ideas I dreamed up the night before... (and yes... I can't sleep because I dream of card making sketches...LOL) just disappears into thin air...

At any rate.... here is this week's sketch out at Outlawz and below.. my take on the sketch

my lighting was just awful... so I do hope you can see the card. It is simply a cream curious metal base card - I rounded the corners with my favourite creative memories corner rounder. an off cut of patterned paper as well as 2 off cuts of a rusty & dark brown. I cut the rust with one of my spellbinders borderbilities and edged it with my brilliance coffee bean ink pad. layered it onto the brown off cut and cut around the edges of the border. the Bird image is from my Hampton Art range which I stamped in brown ink and overstamped with a Hero Arts word stamp. cut out with my circle nestibilites from spellbinders.. (see the perfect match) and layered as per the sketch . Stamped sentiment from Hero Arts on top left corner in Brilliance Coffee Bean. - Brilliance inks are great for coated cards.

thanks for stopping by... hope you have a great day
