Celebr8ing ' The Glamorous Collection'

Hello all

I know its been some time since I last loaded anything on my blog... I've been active on my facebook page simply because its been easier to load photos there with our erratic internet connection....

I was privileged to attend a Retailers Day held by Celebr8 in collaboration with Lady Pattern Paper and the esteemed Cariena Basson from Scrapbook Studio in Jeffreys Bay.

It was wonderful to spend a day with 'like' minded people who share the same love for paper crafts as I do.

This is my interpretation of Cariena's layout....

A close up of the Celebr8 flowers. I added some brads
from Making memories to the centre

the Celebr8 chipboard letters take ink and glossy accents
beautifully

a side view to hopefully show dimension

Close up of photo and distress detail

I cut my title on Silhouette using the Broadway font.
lace detail is from the Celebr8 stamp collection

a close up on my peacock which I fussy cut

sequin and banner detail

shine and sparkle from the Celebr8 stamp range

be your own kind of - cut from the Celebr8 paper range

Stamp also from the Celebr8  Glamorous stamp range

And the completed layout.

that's it for now.... I haven't completed a layout in quite a while... and if you 're in the same boat... why not take this weekend to finish some of those old event layouts... that never seem to get done...

I feel kind of relieved that I managed to finish this one so soon after the actual event...LOL

until next time....

Tri Fold Screen 70th Birthday card

Hi All

so finally I have a moment to finish this post.... had a small procedure done to my hand and happy to say its healing well and should be all good by next week.

So, here's the 70th card I made to go with that friendship quote canvas... it was after all a special birthday... so I had to make something which I thought was 'special'

one panel with a white embossed layer and a spellbinders die cut with my message.

the edges of my embossed pieces have been distressed with Tim Holtz Hickory Smoke distress ink. Looove this color! Cut the Alterations Sewing room die and dressed the doll with, DP, ribbon and beads.

third panel on this side has another die cut with the number 70 and embellished with pearls and diamante's
here is the completed side.

I love this embossing folder...leaves one room to still stamp and add embellishments too!

Kept the centre panel plain for the rubber stamped sentiment

and the final section also embellished with stamped image, diamante's and flowers
and here is the full image of all 3 sides.

I first embossed the A4 card into 3 equal parts using my Martha Stewart scoring board,  cut the bottom of the card with my sizzix fancy frames die through my big shot and used a Martha Stewart punch for the top.

and that's it ... its a lot easier if you have a silhouette or electronic cutter. I made mine the old fashioned way...and had lots of fun creating this so I hope you'll give it a go!...it really is a special card - lots of love has gone into its creation...fortunately the recipient was one who appreciates the time and hard work that goes into 'handmade'

until next time.......

Friendship Mixed Media Canvas

Hiya all

Well...... is it too late to wish you all a Happy 2016... goodness me... I cannot believe we are almost at the end of the first month in the new year... time has flown by so fast...

I have been crafting... just haven't had much time to post any pics or blog... same issues with internet connectivity... Telkom has sent around so many technicians... but we live in hope that it will eventually be resolved... roll on fibre optics... I cannot wait!!!

I wanted to share a canvas I made for a good friend who turned 70 in October... she was so thrilled with this gift... so without much chatter... here are the photos...

I chose a quote which I thought was apt for a friendship spanning at least 10 years...

I cut my quote on my Silhouette... quote purchased in the Silhouette store

I used lots and lots of Roses, leaves and beads.

Highlighted some words in the quote with glossy accents and glitter... . Doilies used in the background is the Tim Holtz doily Die.. and paper background from the FabScraps Range.

I also made her a lovely card to match.. will post that shortly.

so for the moment....

remember to

Keep in Krafty.....
