Kool Kidz Canvas....

Hello fellow bloggers

Time sure does fly by fast.... I cannot imagine that its been almost 2 weeks since my last post... OK... the itchy scratchy throat and cough bug visited the last few days... and boy... was this old body sore... anyway... today I had to drag this old body out of a wonderful warm bed 'cause it was Michelle's day to visit and complete her daughters canvas.

Here are a few Pictures I managed to take with my ipad... sorry about the quality... hope they come up OK on your PC

I first layed down the Tim Holtz Idea-o-logy Mask "flourish"
and sprayed with Adirondack Color Washes in
Stream, Sunset Orange and Red Pepper.

I love the way the Sunset Orange and Stream becomes a wonderful green when they mix!

I couldn't get the full picture in.... so I havd to split the pic in two...
we cut out the letters on chipboard and colored it in with radiant pearls... I quite forgot that it wouldn't dry... so we removed it and I made my own pearl paint with
Derwvant Mattisse Iridescent Medium, normal penguin ink (yep the office ink) and it worked like a charm!

We cut out the flower and scroll leaf with Sizzix flourish Floral with leaves item # 656520
and also colored it with our home made iridescent paing. Overstamped on the flower with Hero Arts CL 513 Lauderdale Floral  in Brilliance Black ink - added a flower bling and some stickles to finish.

the letters were overstamped in Brilliance black ink with a variety of background stamps to add some texture and interest.

To finish off we added some metal butterflies on a few of the letters and blinged up the words with stickles... nothing is complete without stickles...

Oh yes... the Cerise color paint we made with my daughters edible food powders 'cause I didnt have a cerise color to complement the background... and YES...It worked like a charm.... so don't limit yourself... there are even crafty finds... in your kitchen stash...LOL

have a simply wonderful week further...

Black and white birthday gift box

I just realized that I took pics of a birthday box I recently made for my aunty 60th Birthday bash.

I started this without an original plan... so it kinda just evolved... like alot of my work is... no plan... just play ... and a few hours later... a completed project... this one took me quite a while...... but I managed to finish it in time for the birthday... yep... I made it about 2 hours before we were supposed to leave for the party... just so typical...LOL

anyway... hope you like... the floral paper was purchased at The Deckle Edge... in a large flat sheet... and the braid and black cardstock was from my stash at home.

take care and keep warm... I am blogging right next to the fire...

Tim Holtz scrapbook page "Our Grand Kidz"

Hello fellow stampers and scrappers... we have had some wonderful winter days... ideal for nights by the fire or under the duvet... at least down in Cape Town we do get the odd sunny day... to perk us up during those cold winter days...

I finally managed to finish my double paged spread we did with Bella a few weeks ago... I had to make a few changes to the original sketch cause I decided to use pics of my two grand kids... so the dress makers dummy and embossed image was not an option...

I still like the outcome though... here are a few pics I took with my ipad... cause if we wait for me to load pics from my camera, then this post is never going to happen... LOL... I just don't get round to down loading those pictures.

I decided to go with an all black frame so the pictures could be the focus. These frames are made with an extra depth to accommodate all our wonderful 3D impressions... so the embellishments don't actually touch the glass.

I am retailing them at R250,00 each for a double paged frame... if you are needing to get those gorgeous pages on the wall, then give me a shout at 082 444 6477 or shamelahendricks@gmail.com.

Enjoy the rest of the week - till next time
