Z is for Zulu Pots

Hello everyone.... finally having a moment to add the pic of my Z is for Zulu pots...

A quick indication of how I did this one... I stamped the Zulu Pots onto black reindeer card with Versa black ink and embossed it with clear embossing powder, this allowed me to bleach the insides of the pot thus achieving this shaded effect on the black card.  It took some time, but I cut out the pots individually and raised them onto my background with foam double sided tape.

The base card is a lovely dark beige Isikumba textured card which much to my dismay was discontinued by the supplier... I layered a mottled scrapbook paper on which i stamped a small map of Africa, a little Zulu boy stirring a pot, the sun and the prayer for Africa.
I stickled the sun and layered the pots with some dried leaves which I received in a bouquet.... I saw these in the bouquet and realised that once dried I could use them on cards... and loved the overall look it gave my ATC.

thanks for stopping by.... its freezing and raining in Cape Town... so I hope the weather is much better in your part of the world...

Y is for YUM YUM YUM...... delicious!

Hello everyone... finally having a moment to update my blog... I have no idea where the days go... they just seem to by flying by at an amazing speed.... we are almost mid June... which means 6 months of 2011 has come and almost gone....

below are the images I managed to snap of my Y is for Yum ATC swap I did recently.  I used Hampton art paper as well as a Hampton Art image... unfortunately the clings stamp of the piled cup cakes are now all sold... they are a limited edition.

In this close up I hope you can see the frame I cut with my Oval scallop  Nestibility...

the cup cake image was 3D onto the ATC after I colored , added some dimension with Glossy Accents and finally added some Hero Arts Prism Glitter... ( I just looooove this stuff)
The background pale green card was stamped (wording Yum)
 with Brilliance Pearl Pink ink.

A close up of the completed ATC... to finish I added my flat backed pearls on the left a bit of Stickles around the frame and cut out the word Yum which I stamped onto pink card with brilliance Pearl Pink ink...not forgetting my new favourite technique... distressing the edge with distress inks...

Hope you have a super week.... its cold in Cape Town... so great time to have a lovely fire and do some crafting...

TFL....

X is for Xpecting....

And the alpha ATC's continues... yep... after more months than I can count...LOL... actually I lost count... >vbg< we finally reached the X Y & Z of the Alpha ATC swap we did.

and here is my take on X..................

This is one of my Hampton Art R13.50 line stamps... I stamped her in black and colored her in with my Hero Arts water color wheel...of course my most favourite technique ever... distressing the edges with my Tim Holtz Distress inks... layered her onto orange card - I punched a decorative edge... on the right side of the layer for added interest.

The main card is brown card stock... fairly heavy... about 280gsm on which I layered a nursery / kiddies nursery rhyme paper. I distressed the paper with my Tim Holtz distress inks.

Over stamped it with my border xxxxx stamp in fired brick red distress ink on the right.... and stamped over that in Dark brown ink the wording " precious little bundle and "pecting" with my alphabet set.  Finally added the X with a green checked ribbon and attached it with a staple and a little heart button to embellish - oh yes... I also sprayed the final product with some Perfect pearls... mist... ( made my own) simply by adding some perfect pearls ( KIWI is my favourite color) in a small mini mister bottle with some water.. shake it up... and voila... there you have it...pearls mist... it gives off a wonderful goldy green sheen.. which is not visible on the picture... unfortunately ;p(

I'll add my Y for YUM YUM tomorrow

thanks for stopping by...
