A trio of Coffee Quotes on Canvas

Hello there fellow crafters...

An old friend of mine recently opened a coffee shop .... and I was initially going to buy her flowers and make a card... then it was a plant... and finally I decided to create something for her to hang on the wall... we have known each other for a very long time... and she has always supported my shop... so I really, really wanted to do something special for her.

It was rather quick to find cute quotes on line... the process is rather simple... I printed the image coloured it with distress inks in Ripe Persimmon, Mustard seed and Picked Raspberry...these have been my 'go to' colours since I got them... just love the contrast.

the card was adhered to the canvas with gel medium. I also lightly added a coat over the top of the image.

the word coffee has been filled with Glossy Accents and covered with Ranger Star Dust Dry Stickles

They looked rather bare so I added the flowers and leaves from my stash as embellishments. some of the white flowers were sprayed pink with Dylusions Funky Fuschia - OMG  I love that stuff!!!

the weather was rather dull today... so I took my pics out in the garden for a change... at least its a fresh background.. and not my boring old table top...:-)

until next time....I wish you pleasant hours of Krafting.....

don't forget  to....

Oriental Card # 3

Hi everyone

so.. while searching for 'freebie' printable Oriental/Asian images.. I came across this awesome, ultra sexy siren... and just had to make a card with her....

background paper is also a freebie I found on line

I loved the cherry blossoms and just added some stickles to the centre of the flowers for some bling

My sexy siren in all her glory. The sentiment is the same Hero Arts set as per the previous card . added a small flower as detail in her hair and some glossy accents with tumbled glass distress glitter

A metal fan to embellish

the little bead in the centre of the flower is also a bit from a broken necklace.

I realised after I had posted off the card that my camera setting had been incorrect... so sorry for the poor picture quality of some of the images.... I think its been sorted now.. thankfully

as always... I wish you a wonderful evening

and don't forget....

Remember to......

Oriental Card #2

Hi Everyone...

today I am sharing the second of 3 Oriental cards I made over the last few weeks as part of a 1-4-1 Oriental card exchange... its the same image as per the previous card... just a different sketch...

this image was also coloured in with a mixture of ProMarkers and Spectrum Noir Alcohol pens.
the diamante flower behind her ear is a bit of a broken necklace.
I used my oval nestibilities to die cut the image.

the sentiment is from an old Hero Arts set Poetic Prints LL530 Chinese wishes. I fussy cut it out and added some glossy accents to it.

Cardstock is black 250gsm plain card, some Bazzill off cuts, a free printable  and a flower which I had sprayed ages ago for another project - it didn't work for that one, but I thought it worked here. center of the flower are flat backed pearls and to the right my makeshift chopsticks (a toothpick broken in half and tied with gold chord.)
and that's it....

until my next post....

Asian / Oriental Card

hello all

just a quick one today... I recently made this card using free digital downloads from the internet for both the image and the background paper...

sorry.. I downloaded it but can't remember where they came from.. so best bet is just to google free Asian/Oriental digital images and printables... its sure to come up.

I coloured the image with a mixture of Spectrum Noir and ProMarkers - fussy cut the image and layered it onto an Oval cut out in Curious metal 300gsm cream cardstock with my petite scallop Nestibilities.

the base of the card is white linen card . I edged the image, the Oval and the background paper with dusty Concord distress ink . the sentiments are from an old Hero Arts set LL592 Tiny Chinese Wishes - had it for ages and only just opened it... yep I am that bad!!! but at the time it was a had to have... LOL.. knew it would come in handy some day....lol

edged sentiments with Dusty concord too... to blend in with the background.

and that's it...

until next time.......

Art Journal Challenge page 2 - its all about feet

Hello fellow crafters...

I know, its been ages since I blogged, but its been busy as usual on my side... I am busy finishing off a wedding album for a client.... and have subscribed to an Oriental card challenge.. so this has been keeping me on my crafting toes so to speak... the Oriental challenge hasn't been easy... I haven't really made many Oriental cards before... and have limited supplies for it.. but that's a story for another day.

A few weeks ago I started an Art Journal Challenge on Facebook - it runs for 15 weeks.. with 2 challenges per week... I finished the first one fairly quickly, but this challenge "feet" had me literally stumped.

I initially envisaged a page with my grand daughter's baby feet... printed the pics, started the page, but it wasn't 'talking' to me.... if you know what I mean...

then I remembered Wisaal, my daughter had taken a pic of my two grand kids walking hand in hand in the distance... to school one day... and this is what sparked my interest.

anyway... too much talking, lets get to the photos...

its a double pages layout.. I started by scraping gesso over both pages with a palette knife. then added random blobs of white, red and yellow acrylic paint. used a credit card to blend them over the pages... I didn't like the bright colors, so I added a thinned out layer of gesso randomly over the pages.

Used Tim Holtz THS025 Arrows layering stencil for the arrows and sponged it in Archival jet black ink.

the photo was printed on my computer as well as the wording which reads:
"holding hands they stride into their future, step by step, step by step....."

i added some random stamping, rub ons, and used a Stencil for the live, laugh love quotes - this was added with texture paste a mix I had left over from another project.

a close up of the flowers I cut out of one of my Tim Holtz paper pads.. the pink and blue one... sorry cant remember the name.. cover has been used up ages ago already :-) and in the centre of the smaller flowers I have added bits from a broken necklace....(yes I keep everything...LOL) and the big flower has a sentiment stamped from an old Hero Arts set....which I just love!
I finished off the page by spraying the top of the page with Dylusions funky fusia and Adirondack color wash butterscotch sprays...and adding some water to allow them to drip down the page. finally I added my phote of my two adorable grandchildren who are the centre of my universe... almost nothing beats being a Gran!!
and here is the full paged spread.... I hope it works....

until next time..... sending much love

and always remember to.........
