80th birthday card

Hello stamping friends

I made this card for a special 80th birthday.

Found this marvellous blog by Megan Berry called Lilac and Lavender (http://lilac-n-lavender.blogspot.com).

This lady had put together the "most amazing" printable papers and tags.

I was so excited to find it yesterday that I simply just had to use a printable from
Her site for this card.

Hope you all have a great week!

10 quick 2013 calendars

Hi there

Yep I have been a busy gal..... 2
Posts in one day... Lol a record for me....

The new year is almost upon us and as usual I make mum some calendars to give away as gifts. Of course I cannot charge her for these, she is my mum and does so much for all of us, so I had to make them pretty but within a budget.

Out comes the off cut box!

It took me a bit of time to make them, cause trying to match up colours seem to take up most of my time, but they didn't cost a fortune.

Hope u like them.

Have a great weekend. It's cold, windy and raining in Cape Town.
Strange weather for this time of year

Steampunk chunky page part 2

Hiya everyone!

Yesterday went by in a whirlwind, so today I finally had the tome to take some pics of my completed page

I am lazy to lug out and down load pics from my other camera so thought instead of waiting another day to download, took pics with my iPad.

If I ever swap my iPad it will be for one with a better quality camera 'cause it's just so easy to blog from here.

I kept the back of my page simple cause there was just so much going on in the front.

Hope u like my steam punk attempt.

Steampunk Chunky book page Tim Holtz Dies.

Hello fellow stampers and scrappers

A few months ago my card group hosted a Steampunk Chunky book swap.... well ... I took the liberty of taking pics of my page as I went along... and today (cause I think almost everyone should have their books by now) I would like to share with you my contribution to the chunky book.

It took me days to create this... and it was indeed a labour of love... I had never done steampunk before... so this was a really big challenge...

These are the stamp sets I used to complete the page.... I stamped the heart with wings and then cut them out seperately. Used the wings on the dressmakers body and the heart on the side.
I started with this scrapbook paper.... cause I love the ready distressed look it had.

Overstamped the scrapbook paper with the stamp below in brushed corduroy distressed ink

Then overstamped that with the stamp below in Memories Art Print brown.

and finally stamped the number stamp (cannot remember the brand off the bat) randomly in fired brick. This was my background.

Using my little distress tool, I distressed the edges as well as created a tear on the top and left side of the card and distressed that as well.

added some fired brick and brushed corduroy distress ink to the edges.

here you can see the opening I created with the tear - this was also distressed to match the sides.

completed distressed tear on the top.

I took an off cut of Kraft and embossed it with a brick embossing folder. attached it behind the tear and layered the background onto a black 14x14cm 200gsm card.

Apologies for the bad picture, I cut out Tim Holtz Alterations cogs border die with chip board and painted it first in black and lightly brushed over it with copper paint.

once dried I added some Inkssentials Crackle Accents to the gears I cut out which will eventually be layered under the top tear of the page. I also added the gears border painted in black and copper to the side of my page.

That's it for today folks.... I will be back later today or tomorrow with the balance of my page and the final product.

Have a stampendous day

50th Birthday card

Hello fellow Crafters

What a lovely cool Cape Town day. I had to get up extra early today to finish this card for collection this morning.

Sat with the elements yesterday but just had no Mojo or inspiration.

A4 cards are such a large canvas to work with so it always gives me grief, but the client who ordered the card seemed happy so I am too.

A few Quick pics taken with iPad.

Have a fab day

Baby's 1st year book

Hello there

This project was made especially for a baby who arrived a few weeks ago.

It has been a work in progress but it's finally done. Nothing fancy, but the book is completely hand made from scratch and bound with twine and embellished with ribbon.

Apologies for picture quality, taken with my iPad , but I am delivering tomorrow so no time to photograph in better light.

Take care
