Wedding Wishes

Hello everyone

I trust you are all well and that the mojo fairy is spreading some creativity your way.

A quick wedding card today. The background is a printed background paper - sorry i can't remember from where. But the heart image is courtesy of lilac-n-lavender

Megan Berry is amazing, she does half the work of creating a gorgeous masterpiece for you.

Please do stop by her blog and take a peek, I promised you won't be disappointed.

I opened the file and exported it to MS word and added the names and message in word.

Added pearls with glossy accents, distressed the edge with vintage photo distress ink and to finish 3 pink roses.

I hope the recipients are going to like their card.

That's it from me for today.

Remember to.......Keep it crafty.....

Freshly made sketches #3 and Simon Says Challenge white on white

Hello fellow Crafters

I loved the idea of White on White in the Simon Says challenge and thought this week's freshly made sketch was pretty cool...so i tried my hand an combined the two this morning.

It's a scorcher here in Cape Town today supposed to be 37 degrees celcius...but i haven't stepped foot out the door so i have no clue what its like out there...much rather be inside playing...as i am sure many of you will agree.

Anyway here is my card hope you like what i have come u with.

I used all white card but distressed some of it with vintage photo distress in to highlight the flowers of the embossing folder. Also added some Glossy Accents and Prism glitter to finish.

Have a great week and don't forget....

Tim Holtz tag for February

Hello everyone

I have been wanting to do Tim's tags for such a long time... Last night i decided to try my hand at it.

Well considering that we are always soo delayed with laying our hands on Tim's latest products here in South Africa...I had to improvise quite a bit...overall i am pleased with the end result...and YES i will be back...lol

I used white card to make my tag, didn't have fired brick distress stain so i just used my distress ink pad.

I used a stampers anonymous swirl for the background and a Paper Inspirations stamp for the main image. Coloured the rose with my Spectrum Noir pens. The heart comes from a Stampers Anonymous set as well which i die cut with a heart, stamped love in the heart in red, distressed the edge wit fired brick and black soot and added a layer of Glossy accents to the heart.

The focal image was distressed and edged with fired brick and black soot distress inks too. Heart border at the top is a strip of black card, distressed and stamped tiny hearts in white, layered wit Glossy accents and added some glitter.

A tiny brass heart from my stash finished off my tag.

Hope you have a fabulous day!

Keep it crafty....

Valentine Distressed Mixed Media Frame

Hello Fellow Crafters

Last night we had a bit of summer drizzle... what a relief after a few days of heat.... today I finally had the time to distress my frame and complete (or at least I think so) my first Mixed Media frame.

Honestly... when I initially started this... quite a few months ago... I hated the look of it.. thought I had completely messed up the idea.. and chucked it aside.

Having had some time to see some other Mixed Media Artwork in blogland....... about 2 weeks ago.. I took another look at my project and started adding things randomly... and slowly the final product came to fruition.

I have taken loads of pics.. so this one is going to be a long picture post.

I used... a piece of string the loop the word love and attached it with lots of Modge. and painted it red when it was dry.The base is a piece of chip board.. it did buckle a bit under the modge.. but an overnight stay under our large telephone directories brought it back to normal.

the bottom section of my piece is a piece of embossed daisy paper I had on hand which I distressed with lots of white and black paint. (Sorry Bella no progress shots on this one either :-(

The heart is also chip board... I painted it in red and added some artist sand to give it some texture and then distressed it with some black soot distress ink.

I later added some texture past through a stencil to create the zig zag ( only stencil I had which worked) - note to self... 'need some new stencils' ... there are loads about now... its seems to be the new "in thing"

Below the sentiment on the heart is a bit of lace attached and the 2 brass hearts were attached with Glossy Accents.

My loopy love word made with string... i actually like how this came out. A piece of paper doily and a love quote

Here the frame was still painted... and not yet distressed...kinda thought it needed to be aged to match the rest.

Close up on Chandelier - see the gold paint in the candles...

Close up on the heart and lace border below the love caption

The black  cardstock border is from Spellbinders to which I added some heart pearl beads.

The little vase and roses has probably been in my stash for more than 10 years... I bought it... and never had the opportunity to use it until now... the vase was also distressed with bronze and green metallic paste very lightly. Added some brads to the corners. If you can see the background is a mess of paint swirls in white and black as well as lots of modge, bits of dictionery paper and even some of Tim Holtz's tissue tape... I love that stuff!!

Close up on dictionary paper, brad and edge of frame which I  lightly sanded and distressed with black soot distress ink.
Side View of heart you cansee the gritty sand and raised zig zag effect which I painted with gold & bronze and distressed in black soot ink

This is a close up of the chandelier.. from Hero Arts. I stamped in black and added some glossy accents to the tear drops and also added some gold ink to the candle tips

I added some quotes in line with the Love theme

Side View of the little vase.. as you can see is it quite raised. Its stuck on with Glossy Accents... boy do I love that stuff.. I use it for everything!

and the final product.. I really need to learn how to take better pictures... my camera ability leaves much to be desired... sorry :-(

Anyway folks thats it for today.... hope you all have a wonderful Sunday...

Keep it Crafty.............
