Art Journal Challenge page 2 - its all about feet

Hello fellow crafters...

I know, its been ages since I blogged, but its been busy as usual on my side... I am busy finishing off a wedding album for a client.... and have subscribed to an Oriental card challenge.. so this has been keeping me on my crafting toes so to speak... the Oriental challenge hasn't been easy... I haven't really made many Oriental cards before... and have limited supplies for it.. but that's a story for another day.

A few weeks ago I started an Art Journal Challenge on Facebook - it runs for 15 weeks.. with 2 challenges per week... I finished the first one fairly quickly, but this challenge "feet" had me literally stumped.

I initially envisaged a page with my grand daughter's baby feet... printed the pics, started the page, but it wasn't 'talking' to me.... if you know what I mean...

then I remembered Wisaal, my daughter had taken a pic of my two grand kids walking hand in hand in the distance... to school one day... and this is what sparked my interest.

anyway... too much talking, lets get to the photos...

its a double pages layout.. I started by scraping gesso over both pages with a palette knife. then added random blobs of white, red and yellow acrylic paint. used a credit card to blend them over the pages... I didn't like the bright colors, so I added a thinned out layer of gesso randomly over the pages.

Used Tim Holtz THS025 Arrows layering stencil for the arrows and sponged it in Archival jet black ink.

the photo was printed on my computer as well as the wording which reads:
"holding hands they stride into their future, step by step, step by step....."

i added some random stamping, rub ons, and used a Stencil for the live, laugh love quotes - this was added with texture paste a mix I had left over from another project.

a close up of the flowers I cut out of one of my Tim Holtz paper pads.. the pink and blue one... sorry cant remember the name.. cover has been used up ages ago already :-) and in the centre of the smaller flowers I have added bits from a broken necklace....(yes I keep everything...LOL) and the big flower has a sentiment stamped from an old Hero Arts set....which I just love!
I finished off the page by spraying the top of the page with Dylusions funky fusia and Adirondack color wash butterscotch sprays...and adding some water to allow them to drip down the page. finally I added my phote of my two adorable grandchildren who are the centre of my universe... almost nothing beats being a Gran!!
and here is the full paged spread.... I hope it works....

until next time..... sending much love

and always remember to.........

Keep it Krafty....

hugz
shamela :-)
