Wow..... its been a hectic time...I've been off line for waaay too long... hopefully these internet woes are a thing of the past...... and I can get my life back into order...

Maroon Birthday card

I made this card for my dearest hubby a while back.  It just evolved like most of my cards do... I never really have a plan... I work on how things look and feel.. if that makes any sense at all....  The Dream, play love section was done on an old recycled piece of board... I rubbed my versa mark ink pad over it... and layered gold, and bronze embossing powder on it... heat set and whilst still wet added about 5 layers of clear embossing powder... one after the other heating in between... inked up my stamp with black ink and stamped over the melted powder. Unfortunately the scan does not show up all the detail, but it came out really nicely.... the detail on the light brown cardstock was a few random images I stamped to create a collage type background. A matching bit of scrapbook paper to layer & an embossed clock sticker and fibres to finish........ I love to tear paper.. so you'll often see a torn element in my work...

flowers for a fifty year old

My mum has been telling her neighbours that I make the most gorgeous handmade cards... and would you know she needed a card for the next day.... I always amaze myself to think that people imagine it takes 2 tics to make a card... .. maybe its just me.. but I rarely have a card available on hand.. there has just been no time to make up stock... LOL.. if only I had more hours in the day.... and more time to my stamping... anyway... this one is just plain and simple... I used my new wizard to emboss the background rust coloured paper and stamped the Penny black lily in an autumn Kaleidacolour... my saving grace when in in a hurry... anyway.. the older folk tend to love the gold embossing so I simply had to include it in the wording...used my nesties to mount the number 50 and some stickles to finish off... a bit of bling always brings a smile of satisfaction... ;p)

Nestabilities... and my new wizard

Well... I took the plunge and sold my cuttlebug in favour of a wizard.... it took a bit of getting used to the new details...but I am very happy with the results.. my cuttle bug folders work like a dream in them... of course I had to get some Nestibilities... finally..... I made this quick and simple card for a little girl's 8th birthday... didn't have much time.. so the nestibilities made things alot easier... I stamped little Hero Arts ( http://www.heroarts.com/) flowers in the background (they didnt come out too well on the scan) and highlighted a few with some gemstones and stickles. A ribbon stuck behind the nestie and stamped happy birthday in silver (as requested) added some pink dots with my ranger acrylic paint around the oval and finished off with some flowers in the corner... of course her mum wanted the card personalised so I just used one of my old PSX alpha sets for her name. I am looking fwd to have loads more fun with my wizard.. and my nesties...

Debbie Has awarded me with another Award... thanks Debbie.. for thinking of  me... I have been so busy these last few weeks... since our wonderful new addition arrived... that it has left me little time to even think of blogging or stamping... I am starting to have withdrawal symptoms... thankfully little Aqeel is getting into a routine so his mummy can spend more time with little sister Azrah... who is celebrating her 2nd birthday on Friday.... and the terrible 2's has already started.. LOL...


for some reason or other .. I am unable to copy and paste or even load Debbie's award picture... go figure.. I am clueless.. but anyway.. I'll still share 10 things about me

1.  I am totally freaked out by snakes... I cant even look at a picture of them. all that slithering gives me the creeps...

2.  I am trying to get organised for 2010... but it seems like such a long haul

3.  my craft desk is only eva neat n tidy for 2seconds...dittto for the dining room table (much 2 my husbands dismay)

4.  I abhor dishonesty.... don't take what doesnt belong to u.

5.  I only like 2 swim in warm water...30 +++ degrees....

6.  my hair is quite long....hangs down the centre of my back n full of grey streaks..

7.  I am a qualified estate agent had my own agency for 5 yrs... too cut throat 4 me too much back stabbing I prefer the sedate activity of crafting...

8.  i love being at home ... i prefer 2 b  home to being on the road

9.  Favourite travel destination - Thailand... been a few times.. and just longing to return...the people are just so friendly

10 . I am blessed in the fact that both my parents are still alive.... Dad aged 71 and mum aged 66 - for this i am truly thankful.

4. I wish I had more time & space for my crafting >vbg< don't we all....

5.  Bad customer service... my pet hate... I sometimes feel I need to take up the challenge to teach some of these poor service deliverers some manners!

6.  I've been married for 24 years and still love my DH 99% of the time.. LOL.....

7.  I am fortunate enough to have both my parents still alive and kicking... and they still sometimes look after me... how lucky is that!
